A college student from South Yorkshire, England hits the no.1 spot with online downloads on liquid drum & bass chart.
Lewis Dransfield, also known as TwoThirds released his best tune to date ‘Epiphany’ on 26th September. The song took only 3 days to get to the top spot on TrackItDown.net and stayed there for around 2 weeks. Epiphany, which also features Feint, a young producer from Bolton and Veela, a singer from Canada, also managed to get in the Top 10 in the overall charts on the site. The young producer has not only seen support from friends and family, but from BBC Radio Sheffield, who have aired the song on multiple occasions.
He said: “For me ‘Epiphany’ has been one of my favourite songs I have ever made, and I am overwhelmed that people have taken the time to purchase my music. The level of support I have been given is amazing.”
“I try to create my music outside of college, its difficult managing my work load but the response I get makes it all worth it. I just hope to continue producing and I am excited to see where it takes me.”
Since the success of ‘Epiphany’ the trio have got together again to create a new song called ‘Starscapes.’ The song will be released in December on DNBR Records, a UK based drum and bass label. In addition to the release, the label also opened a competition, where other producers had the opportunity to remix the song to be released on the EP later in the year.
The 18-year old from Barnsley has also seen success on iTunes over in the United States. His song “Lost” was released on “Monstercatt 002- Early Stage,” a compilation album that featured other up and coming producers. The album managed to go above worldwide superstars such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Benni Bennassi in the Dance Album Chart. Lewis has also managed to get his songs onto an iPod/iPad application known as ‘ReRave.’
Due to his recent success Lewis has now seen interest from Med School Music, the sister label of Hospital Records, which is home to the biggest Drum & Bass artists in the world. He hopes to continue working on Drum & Bass music in the future, and is already planning on perusing production further by taking up a course in University after finishing college.
