Under his many guises (Neuropunk/ Solomon MC/Go-Incognito), Solomon Baldeo aka Neuropunk exudes the true renaissance man, tackling as many facets of the nightlife scene and art as humanly possible. DJ/MC/Producer/Promoter/Designer/Illustrator/Writer…the list goes on for the many activities for his daily grind and he holds a deep passion for each one.
Although the harder, darker side of Drum & Bass is the big gun in his arsenal. Neuropunk has a passion for all sounds Drum & Bass, from liquid to jump-up to ragga. His musical taste is a product of his upbringing. From a very young age, Neuropunk had been exposed to Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz, Reggae/Dancehall and DJ culture from his elder brother, DJ Phers One (DP Sound). As he grew, he also found a love for Punk Rock and Electronic. His love for Drum & Bass began in 1999, at first being exposed to Roni Size and Adam F music videos on cable television and snippets of mixtapes from high school friends, then to a full on passion for the music after his first rave at Nocturnal Wonderland. Soon after he approached the turntables and it wasn’t too long after seeing MCMC live in 2000 that he picked up the microphone.
Behind the scenes, Neuropunk linked up with Grapevinez in early 2005 and since then, has been deeply involved in some of the largest and most memorable Drum & Bass parties in Los Angeles, most notably, Champion Soundz and History (America’s Largest Drum & Bass event). Currently, Neuropunk runs his own company and website at
www.media-obscura.com where he hosts multiple podcasts, writes various articles, and creates various designs. He also runs LA’s no.1 Drum & Bass monthly, Timeless, along with fellow crewmates Dip Vertigo and Adamantium. Aside from Drum & Bass, Neuropunk is one of the main people involved with what is now the West Coast’s no.1 voted EDM weekly club night, Avaland, at the Avalon in Hollywood.
With his music, Neuropunk currently holds a DJ residency at Timeless and will soon hold a DJ residency at Avaland and other Avalon Hollywood events as his other DJ guise “Go-Incognito” playing other forms of EDM. He is working on many various mixes to release for podcasts and promotional CDs and is in the studio working on tracks. As Solomon MC, he put the microphone down in 2007 to focus more on his DJ career, but don’t be surprised to see back on the mic later year.
