Currently touring Australia with the Big Day Out, Nero are likely feeling pretty great about their 2011. “Everywhere we play it’s just people going crazy and moshing,” one half of the production team Daniel Stephens told inthemix last year. “Everywhere feels fresh for dubstep at the moment; it’s having a real massive lease of life worldwide really.”
With crowds spilling out of tents and amphitheatres wherever they go, you can’t fault Stephens’s confidence. After pricking ears with their earlier dubstep excursions and some savvy remixes, Nero spent a “few years of blood, sweat and tears” realising its debut album, Welcome Reality. Following a drip-feed of singles – four in total: Me & You, Innocence, Guilt and Promises – the final product arrived in a big way.
This March, Nero will release their next single Must Be The Feeling as a double A-side with Innocence. Ahead of the release of the single, the duo has recruited Ram Records duo Delta Heavy for remix duties, and the final product is now available as a free download.
